Full Service Area Rug Cleaning: to be done at our shop following a 9-step process.
Step 1: Pick Up and Pre-Inspection - Our team will do a thorough inspection to learn everything we can about the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect it during the cleaning process. We will provide what the expected outcome will be and inform you prior to any work being done. Guaranteed Carpet & Tile Care Inc. will come to your home to pick up your rug.
Step 2: Dry Soil Removal - Hand knotted and woven rugs are particularly capable of hiding dry soil. Studies have dound that a 9x12 rug could hide as much as 87 pounds of dirt! Our technicians use a variety of techniques for remove dust, dirt and dead skin particles from the rug's entire suface. Using a a pile lifter along with numerous other products and tools, we can implement the best procedure to handle the fabric safely and with the best results.
Step 3: Pre-Conditioning - Based on the fiber and soiling type, we will pre-treat the rug to emulsify the soils
Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation - Any noticible areas of need or difficulty will be treated with special solutions to increase the chances of removal during the process. The fringe will also be pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
Step 5: Shampoo - We use a special Oriental Rug Shampoo that is designed to get maximum results while still protecting the sensitve natural fibers.
Step 6: Rinse or Wash - Depending on the type of rug we are treating, it will be rinsed with extraction equipment on both sides or washed in a wash pit designed especially for Oriental Rugs.
Step 7: Dry - Once the soil is rinsed away, we will dry the rug flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. Proper drying is essential to avoid unnatural shrinkage.
Step 8: Finishing - Once the rug is completely dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
Step 9: Post Inspection and Delivery - Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for delivery to your home in Bradenton, Sarasota or any of the areas we serve. Your rug will be wrapped in brown craft paper to protect it from dust and environmental soils until it is delivered. Upon delivery, we will also be happy to lay the rug for you.
We will pre-test all rugs for color fastness BEFORE cleaning. Some rugs that are not colorfast (particularly silk and some wool) may need to be dry cleaned. Wool and cotton are NOT as stain resistant as nylon or olefin fibers that most installed carpet is made from. Therefore, wool and cotton may have permanent stains that cannot be removed with cleaning. Fringe will be hand cleaned as best as possible.
